The ASNT NDT Level III program provides third-party certification [by American Society for Nondestructive Testing (ASNT)] for Nondestructive testing (NDT) personnel whose specific jobs require knowledge of the technical principles underlying the nondestructive tests they perform, witness, monitor or evaluate.

1. The program provides a system for ASNT NDT Level III certification in NDT in accordance with Recommended Practice No. SNT-TC-1A. 
2. The ASNT NDT Level III program is the core certification program for ASNT. Inaugurated in early 1977, ASNT NDT Level III certificates are recognized worldwide.
3. ASNT NDT Level III certification candidates are required to PASS BOTH the NDT Basic and a Method Examination in order to receive the ASNT NDT Level III certificate.

Minimum Qualification Requirements for ASNT NDT Level III Certification

Have a baccalaureate degree (or higher) in engineering or science, plus one additional year of experience beyond the Level II requirements in NDT in an assignment comparable to that of an NDT Level II in the applicable NDT method(s).
